Analyst II, Financial

T-Mobile has an opening for a Risk Analyst in the Portfolio Credit Risk department who will utilize advanced financial and statistical techniques to evaluate current collection strategies and develop challenging strategies that support Portfolio Credit Risk department objectives. The incumbent will also analyze bad debt, customer churn and support strategic department initiatives through innovative and insightful analysis and presentation.


Responsibilities include:


Perform complex qualitative and quantitative analysis of collection strategies to ensure financial goals are being attained


Develop predictive financial and analytical models


Develop business cases based on analytical results and present actionable recommendations to senior management


Evaluating new risk products offered by vendors


Perform trend/regression analysis and forecasting of trends


Extract data from multiple disparate sources


Investigate potential organizational and operational process efficiencies.


Partner with Collections organization in delivering sound strategies with clearly understood and well defined success measures


Gain knowledge of collection policies and procedures


Provide feedback to credit policy group about effectiveness of their policies


Ensure collection resources are optimally utilized


Successful candidate must be flexible and results orientated. Creativity and the ability to reach insightful conclusions is a must. Candidate must be highly motivated and comfortable working in cross-functional teams interacting with all levels of management.


Non-Technical Qualifications:


Superior communication, organization and presentation skills


Ability to manage multiple deadlines


Wireless/Telecom experiences a plus.


Technical Qualifications:


Experience working with large datasets a plus


Intermediate to Advanced Proficiency in SAS a plus


Intermediate to Advanced Proficiency in SQL a plus


Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access required.


1-3 years of related analytical experience required


BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Mathematics. Statistics or related degree required


MBA or MS in related area a plus
