PricewaterhouseCoopers is actively looking for a life actuarial Manager in the Actuarial & Insurance Management Solutions (AIMS) practice. We currently have opportunities in Hartford.The successful candidate will deliver a broad range of risk analysis services related to life insurance, health and annuity products and the companies that offer them. This candidate will provide actuarial support to Partners and Senior Managers on engagements related to such areas as: Embedded value
Asset/liability management
financial reporting and management,
demutualization, mergers, acquisitions, public offerings and other restructurings,
application of international accounting and other financial measurement systems,
litigation support,
product development,
cash flow analysis, surplus and risk management related to insurance company liabilitiesThis candidate will also provide audit support to the life insurance teams, including reviewing and analysing client information and independently developing findings. This individual will utilize existing software or develop models to augment the review and analysis. Completion of projects will generally require the use of a variety of actuarial methodologies utilizing Excel spreadsheet, reserving software and other computer applications.The PricewaterhouseCoopers Actuarial & Insurance Management Solutions (AIMS) practice is an integral part of a very broad-based financial services firm that serves many industries around the world. REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirement:
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree with a strong academic background in actuarial science, applied statistics, financial analysis, insurance, economics, mathematics or related quantitative disciplines.
Recent or near FSA with a commitment to achieving Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries.Essential Requirements:
Candidates should possess the following characteristics: 7+ years of experience as a life insurance actuary; Embedded value experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent priorities. Proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Interpersonal, management and presentation skills. Commitment to client service and business ethics. Recent or near FSA with a commitment to achieving Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries.
