Position Title: Actuarial Data Analyst

Travel Percentage: Minimum

Job Summary:
Responsible for the scheduled and/or ad hoc execution of internally-developed SAS applications. Also responsible for the on-going maintenance and enhancements of these applications.

Designs and develops new applications for internal/external customers to improve the accessibility of key corporate data.

Facilitates the acquisition of:
1) data to support critical corporate actuarial and financial business decisions and
2) statutory data necessary for the completion of supplemental filings and reports.

Maintains existing systems and recommends new system applications to enhance functionality.

Oversees system maintenance, upgrade or development of new applications.

Will work on multiple projects simultaneously, with both team and individual responsibilities.

Serves as a sounding board to ensure that customer requests and solutions are appropriate and viable.

Provides technical input and suggestions on systems/software issues. Technical Knowledge - Base SAS, SYNCSORT and SQL is essential with additional development experience in a SAS server environment preferred. Business Knowledge - Understands actuarial and regulatory principles and terminology and how it can be impacted by system solutions; has a working knowledge of basic accounting principles; and understands Zurich North America's customers, products, organization and strategy.

Job Qualifications:
The qualified candidate will have 5 or more years of related experience and a Bachelors Degree or equivalent.

1. 5 or more yrs. of insurance related experience or equivalent.
2. 5 or more yrs. of systems related experience or equivalent.
3. 5 or more yrs. experience in use of one or more mainframe or PC based programming languages.
4. 3-5 yrs. data based analysis experience.
5. 2 or more yrs. of experience working in an actuarial or accounting environment.
6. Must have experience in use of SAS.
7. Must be proficient in use of MS Office applications.
8. Must have strong communication and time management skills.
