Accounts Receivable Collections Manager

The Accounts Receivable Collection Manager is responsible for managing all collections activity including Medicaid and third party billings for a range of SNF and community programs including identifying and tracking denial issues. This individual will be responsible for their own portfolio of accounts in addition to supervising the collections staff. This position reports to the Director Revenue Cycle, Reporting and Planning.


•Work with billing and collection team members to achieve the goals of the department and maximize department productivity:
•Provide analysis of Third Party and Patient Receivables to include trends in reimbursement and quality control checks of insurance explanation of benefits.
•Identify and direct the resolution of reimbursement issues with insurance carrier.
•Interact with insurance carriers when issues are identified and present solutions to management.
•Documents all findings and provides a trend summary report on a weekly and monthly basis to senior management.
•Act as a liaison between insurance companies and management.
•Reviews daily mail (provider bulletins & EOB’s) received from insurance carriers to determine if applicable information affects billing and/or reimbursement.
•Attend weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings as required by senior management
REQUIREMENTS
•A bachelor’s degree is required.
•Candidates must have at least five years of experience in health care collections and three to five years of supervisory experience.
•Experience should include third party reimbursement, Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care (preferably New York) and experience with private and other payors.
•Proven track record with health care collections and a working knowledge of claims processing for health care providers, third party payors, commercial managed care, Medicaid managed care and Medicaid fee-for-service.
•An in-depth understanding of SNF and LTHHC Medicaid billing regulations.
