Accounts Receivable Analyst - Oncology

Job Title: Accounts Receivable Analyst - Oncology
Reports To: Manager, Billing/Accounts Receivable
Department: Accounts Receivable

Summary: Maintains accounts receivable records and claims denials by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1.Researches and processes claims appeals to include paper appeals, online appeals, phone appeals and faxed appeals.*

2.Obtains and mails invoice copies for customers and processes zero pays on a daily basis.*

3.Answers telephone system, takes accurate messages and transfers telephone calls to the appropriate person in an efficient manner; answers accounts receivable phone inquiries and follows up.*

4.Prepares accounts receivable aging and cash requirement reports, reviews and updates as needed.*

5.Follows up on the status of outstanding secondary claims on a bi-weekly basis according to company policy and procedure; initiates appropriate collection activities through telephone contact, correspondence and collection agency efforts.*

6.Reports the status of outstanding appeals to management on a monthly basis.*

7.Maintains all accounting files regarding paid appeals, claims, and zero pays by updating, purging and filing on a daily basis.*

8.Performs duties to close the bookkeeping records at the end of each month.*

9.Assists with related special projects, as required.*
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; internet software and MD Plus.
