Accounts Payable/ Bookkeeper

The job -
Keep records of financial transactions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and records charges to active jobs using a computer; make bank deposits; reconcile bank statements; type invoices; and answer the telephone.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Verify, allocate and post details of business transactions to subsidiary accounts in journals or computer files from documents, such as invoices, receipts, check stubs, and computer printouts.
* Perform data entry duties.
* Prepare bank deposits, reconcile and balance accounts.


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Perform general office work such as filing.
* Answer and research vendor calls.
REQUIREMENTS
* 1 -2 years of related bookkeeping experience.
* Yardi and Excel experience is a plus.
* Ability to organize work flow in a timely manner
* Knowledge of bookkeeping procedures
* Ability to work effectively and accurately from general instructions;
* Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision;
* Ability to communicate ideas effectively orally and in writing;
* Ability to establish working relationships and interact effectively with a wide range of people.
