Accounting Technician III

Office of Continuing Education, Extension and Summer Programs. Work Location: Ben Craig Center, 8701 Mallard Creek Road, Suite 200, Charlotte, NC 28262.

Responsibilities: process deposits, direct pay requests, purchase requisitions, order supplies, and travel requests. Prepare journal entries and budget revision. Track the expenditure and encumbrance of funds, and follow-up with vendors for invoices. Extensive daily posting with detailed descriptions of all revenue and encumbrance transactions in MS Excel. Reconcile with the new accounting Banner System and prepare the monthly financial reports. The selected candidate will prepare final financial reports, interim summaries, and various other reports as requested.

Minimum requirements: two-year degree in accounting or business administration (or other comparable training) that would provide a core curriculum in financial management, or graduation from high school and six years experience, three of which must have been at an advanced level or responsibility.

Required qualifications: Must possess extensive Excel spreadsheet knowledge and skills and experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook. Attention to detail and organization skills are required. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with others.
