Demurrage & Detention Accounting Positions
Demurrage (di-mûr'-ij) n. 1. Detention of a ship, freight car, or other cargo conveyance during loading or unloading beyond the scheduled time of departure. 2. Compensation paid for such detention.

Depending upon the position, you may be involved with contacting internal organizations (domestic and foreign), auditing, running reports, and/or identifying non-compliant items. All candidates must be proficient in MS Excel; able to meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment; and have strong analytical, communication and time management skills. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred for most positions and required for others. The ability to work flexible hours is a plus.
