Senior Accountant - Very Little Overtime

This position is accountable for accounting activities associated with maintaining accounts and for developing financial statements and reports. This position will begin with focusing upon the core reporting and financial functions. Upon gaining a comfort level with the accounting, the duties will transition and will add more analytical and project work.

- Prepares, checks and reviews periodic financial reports including monthly financial results, forecasts and account reconciliations.
- Participates in monthly, mid-year and annual closing process.
- Develops ways to expedite closing process.
- Identifies accounting problems, researches possible solutions and forms conclusions to present to manager.
- Maintains controls and implements procedures on computer based accounting systems.
- Ensures systems and procedures are in compliance with company policies and acceptable accounting practices.
- Brings inconsistencies and problems to attention of management.
- Researches possible solutions, and forms conclusions to present to those involved.
- Prepares and/or reviews interpretations of financial results. Advises management on the meaning of the results.
- Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.Job Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required. A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience is required. CPA is preferred, but not required.
