Accounting Manager / Supervisor (JS)

Classification: Full Time Compensation: $60,000 to $80,000 per year PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Reports to the Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for the general accounting and billing functions of the Company. Performs a variety of accounting duties in support of the preparation of workpapers. Monitors the Company's expenditures for adherence to both governmental and internal rules and regulations. Administers approved accounting practices throughout the Company to assure that financial and operating reports accurately reflect the condition of the business and provide reliable information necessary to control operations.Responsible for the correct and accurate accounting classification of all expenditures and documents, including capital. Manages the preparation of 1099's at year end.Oversees the payroll function including the preparation of applicable returns. Manages the preparation of W-2's at year end.Maintains ledgers, prepares and assembles working papers, schedules, exhibits and accounting summaries. Prepares monthly financial statements. Performs monthly and fiscal year end closing procedures.Prepares Government billings, monitors invoice submission process, performs collection efforts, fields and resolves billing questions and oversees the recording of cash receipts.Assists the Director of Finance in interacting with government and independent auditors.Prepares annual incurred cost submissions.Maintains contract files and the integrity of contract information contained in the accounting software (i.e. contract budgets, modifications, etc.).Collaborates with the Director of Finance on cash flow management issues including initiating disbursements and the approval of expenditure requests.Provides bid and proposal support as directed, accounting for capital assets and assisting the Director of Finance in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.Conducts monthly contract financial review meetings with Project Managers and the Director of Operations. Oversees contract budget performance.Performs other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREDThis position requires a B.S. degree in Accounting is required with a minimum of 4 years related accounting experience in a government contracting environment. Deltek GCS Premiere experience required. Must have the ability to effectively interact with people at all levels and communicate accurately.
