Accounting Manager (Sheraton)

SUMMARY: Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries general ledger accounts to document business transactions.Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, income statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position.Establishes, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.Devises and implements system for general accounting.Support and maintain Horseshoe courtesy guidelines.Promote outstanding guest relations.Perform other duties as assigned.ADDITIONAL DUTIES/JOB DIMENSIONS:
Attendance, which may be modified by the Horseshoe from time to time, is an essential function of the job and is required to successfully perform in this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Horseshoe policies and procedures for the safe and efficient operation of company facilities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s/department’s policies. High school diploma or general education degree;And four to ten years related experience;Previous casino experience preferred;Previous AS/400 computer experience preferred;Or equivalent combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management.REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
