Accounting Manager - Real Estate, Loop!We have an opportunity for an experienced Accounting Manager to make an impact right away. This position could lead to an Assistant Controller spot for an individual that shines in a team-oriented environment.Responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial information used internally and externally. The accounting manager supervises corporate staff and property personnel to produce an accurate financial report of each property’s performance.Responsibilities:
Reviews monthly financial statements created by staff accountants, senior accountants and/or property accountants. Ensures that these statements are accurate and distributed in a timely fashion. May directly prepare especially complex financial statements.Supervises, trains, and develops staff of accountants. Answers questions and provides guidance and feedback.
Reviews and approves payables. Signs checks.
Troubleshoots system problems and other issues that may arise.
Portfolio Financial Reporting Manager
Review property financial reports (i.e. financial statements & supporting workpapers and supplementary reports & schedules )
Review management and leasing reports
Review budget variance reports
Review annual property business plans and budgets
Review reforecasts
Meet internal reporting deadlines
Timely communication to Client, Assistant Controller, Controller, Property and other personnel
Responsibility for overall compliance with agreed upon client accounting/reporting requirements
Keep abreast of technical accounting pronouncements and developments
Procedures, Training and Compliance
Develop, implement, and monitor new procedures to improve internal controls, quality and efficiency
Develop and update training/reference manuals
Train personnel on accounting procedures
Monitor properties’ compliance with accounting procedures
Participate in, supervise and summarize bi-annual internal compliance audits
New property set-up, transition and training
Oversee annual JBC-MD compliance audits for all properties
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy required.Four to eight years experience. Experience in real estate accounting required.
CPA preferred.
