Accounting Coordinator, Research

More than 1.8 customers in Washington D.C., Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Virginia depend on PHI for their electricity and natural gas needs.We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Accounting Research and Regulatory Compliance staff at our Washington DC office. In this role, you will assume immediate responsibility for monitoring new accounting pronouncements, analyzing their impact and disseminating within the company. Additionally, you will prepare evaluation papers to document the impact of new accounting pronouncements, where appropriate; assist the financial reporting department on implementation of new pronouncements; provide accounting research support to business units; and evaluate and advise on accounting implications of new and proposed transactions.
REQUIREMENTS
Candidates who possess a Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience in the following areas are encouraged to apply:
•Experience demonstrating skill performing detailed accounting analyses and assisting in the preparation of reports in compliance with policies and regulations (for example, SEC, FASB).
•Experience demonstrating skill preparing and/or reviewing disclosures in SEC Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
•Experience demonstrating skill interacting with others to include regulatory agencies, independent accountants, corporate officers, etc.CPA, CA or similar professional accounting designation is required.
