Accountant II (Staff Accountant)

POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for assisting in all phases of accounting; to follow established accounting policies and procedures; and to work under direct supervision to perform the daily operations involved in Client Reporting.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

May be responsible for one or more of the following:
- Complete routine responsibilities per policy and in a timely manner to maintain ledger, perform monthly closing activities, and prepare client financial reporting packages.

- Ensure compliance with internal and external accounting and reporting policies, procedures, and standards.

- Research and analyze accounting issues such as income statement variances, balance sheet accounts, cash and escrows, and recovery reconciliations.

- Audit ledgers and provide information for outside audits.

- Initiate and review wire transfers, checks, and A/R data; review invoices to ensure proper coding.

- Review fixed asset ledgers and ensure items are properly capitalized and depreciated.

- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets; manage client funds.

- Perform and/or coordinate special accounting and financial projects or analyses.
REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Include salary requirements
- High School Graduate or GED with strong technical work experience in general ledger accounting; or technical skills gained through successful completion of intermediate accounting course work normally required of Accounting majors at a 4-yr college; or Bachelors degree in Accounting
- Strong ethical standards; exhibits sound and accurate judgement
- Familiarity and adherence to standard accounting principles; ability to follow established Policies and Procedures
- Ability to solve routine problems in a timely manner; organized to meet deadlines
- Strong computer software application skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; communicates promptly, clearly and accurately
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent internal and external customer service
- Willingness to travel up to 10%
