Accountant (Financial Services)

A hedge fund of funds and alternative investment management firm is seeking two Accountants to join its financial team.

Responsibilities
Preparation of all accounting, reporting and tax work (daily cash reconciliation, monthly accounting packages, quarterly and annual financial statements, annual tax returns and quarterly capital statements)
Closing the books for assigned entities on a monthly basis, which includes ensuring that proper documentation for manager valuations is received from the hedge fund managers and/or prime brokers and properly accounted for, accruals are appropriate, review of bank reconciliations, aged receivable analysis and capital allocations are appropriate
Assist Investments Department in conducting operational due diligence on current and prospective hedge fund managers as needed
Coordinate interactions with external auditors, tax preparers and other external constituencies as needed
Prepare brokerage account reconciliations, investment manager statement reconciliations and prepare updates of Private Offering Memorandums
Service internal departments including analysis of investment performance to support the research process and with the Client Services Department to provide investor balances, statements of capital, fund rates of return, and marketing information
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
3-5 years accounting experience; preferably a mix of public and private experience
Financial Services experience required
Solid level of accounting knowledge
Preparation of financial statements and strong analytical skills required
Partnership accounting experience a plus
Intermediate computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, QuickBooks and General Ledger packages
Ability to manage multiple processes to meet client deadlines
Solid communication skills
