Job Description:

Walgreens employment tax group files returns, makes tax deposits and reconciles accounts for its more than 175,000 employees. The Employment Tax Accountant will aid and assist in all facets of the employment tax function.

Responsibilities:
Perform quarterly federal, state and local employment tax filings for unemployment, withholding and multiple work-site requirements. Will be back up support for daily processing of payroll for tax payments. Will be support for daily tax deposit function.

Provide tax research and support for the employment tax administrator for issues relating to all facets of compensation and benefits. Provide tax research on changes to information reporting for W2s and 1099s. Provide support for payroll and employment tax issues in relation to acquisitions and other special projects.

Will support 1099 and 1042 reporting function. Will work with A/P in handling W9s and w8s. Will provide support for backup withholding notification and related issues. Will provide support to other departments within Walgreens that issue 1099s.

Qualifications:
Requires an accounting degree with 2-4 years of experience in employment tax. Requires proficiency on Microsoft Office, knowledge of employment tax processing software especially LT Tax a plus.
