Accountant / Assistant (to the Controller)

MedChoice Pharmacy provides pharmacy and consulting services to long-term care institutions. We are a small to mid-size company and many opportunities are expected to follow business growth in the coming year. The Company under current structure has been incorporate for 5 years and the CEO/owner has been in business for almost 20 years. MedChoice is also a JCAHO accredited organization.

The Accountant / Assistant to Controller will be responsible for Accounts Payable, reconciliations, Payroll and Human Resources. Upon proving the ability to complete work accurately and timely, the position will be given responsibility of general ledger postings and core assistance with completion of financial reports and other aspects of the accounting cycle.

This position is best suited for an an applicant with an accounting background or education in accounting who wants to advance his/her career through increased responsibility within an accounting department.

Core Requirements:

- Organized and detail-oriented

- Strong basic accounting knowledge

- Intermediate (or better) Excel skills
REQUIREMENTS


- Degree in accounting or similar field is preferred

- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position. Less experience is acceptable if candidate has strong academic or accounting knowledge.

- Confident use of computers. Proficiency with Microsoft Office - intermediate to advanced Excel skills (will be tested)

- Experience with QuickBooks is preferred but not required
