AUDIT MANAGER FOR NEW DEPARTMENT

Well established company is bringing Internal Audit in-house and has a need for an Audit Manager.
The Audit Manager will:
Provide leadership for financial and operational auditors;
Serve as a "working" manager to oversee and perform financial and operational audits;
Evaluate and determine adequacy of internal controls;
Provide technical accounting/audit guidance and advisory support to staff and business units;
Develop theory and scope of audits, approve audit programs, audit planning, scheduling, staffing assignments, budgeting and logistics coordination;
Ensure audits are performed per professional standards and department procedures;
Review and approve audit work papers and reports;
Develop audit staff through appropriate work assignments and training;
Provide staff performance feedback and administer formal staff appraisals;
Interface with other audit managers and audit directors on departmental activities, status, schedules, guidance and other activities;
Perform special projects;
Support overall department and individual placement objectives, including auditor placement and recruiting activities.
REQUIREMENTS
B.S./B.A., Accounting or equivalent required; M.S. or MBA a plus; CPA highly desired; CIA a plus;
Minimum five years Public Accounting (Big 5 preferred); additional related private industry experience, including international and IT auditing, a plus;
Strong financial and internal control background, working knowledge of generally accepted auditing standards and accounting principles required,
Solid auditing and supervisory experience;
Demonstrated "team player" characteristics;
Progressive thinking skills;
Strong work ethic;
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
