ASSOCIATE FACILITY ACCOUNTANT

Summary: Responsible for ensuring accurate facility accounting, including accounts payable and receiveables, general ledger and Sox compliance. Maintains a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, efficient customer service, both to customers, vendors, and Team Members. Supports Team Leader to maintain regional standards. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Perform special sections of the Financial Accounting Assessment to ensure proper process controls are in place in order to be SOX compliant 2. Contribute to month end, quarter end and year end close 3. Perform weekly analysis of business performance 4. Prepare monthly & annual financial statements 5. Maintain and analyze GL accounts 6. Send statements and make collections calls and follow-up on outstanding items 7. Match invoices with Purchase Orders 8. Enter accounts payable in a timely manner 9. Prepare for check runs twice weekly, verifying all required paperwork 10. Accurately receive checks and process credit cards 11. Maintains impeccable invoice and vendor filing system and carries full ownership / responsibility for accounting paperwork 12. Make bank deposits regularly 13. Provide ideas and suggestions that contribute to the growth of the team and/or improve work environment
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements: 1. Four year degree preferably in business/accounting 2. Strong quantitive, analytical and technology capabilities 3. Prior accounting experience performing audits, compilations and reviews 4. Proficient in producing spreadsheets using Excel 5. Must have experience in accounts payable, receivables and bookkeeping, 6. Ability to follow instructions and established procedures 7. Ability to understand, vendors and Team Members’ needs 8. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with leadership, vendors and fellow team members 9. Ensures consistent implementation and adherence to the high standard of cultural and ethical values of the company 10. Able to follow schedule for timeliness in completing required tasks 11. Able to work a variety of shifts including an occasional weekend shift, and holidays 12. Willingness to receive constructive feedback pertaining to job performance 13. A desire to learn about seafood, natural and organic foods and products
