Maintains high productivity and accuracy with minimal direct supervision. This position is responsible for to bill and collect all accounts receivable balances in a prompt and efficient manner. The Access Representative is an expert in determining the optimal combination of bill presentation, transactions, collections and customer service. Interprets all contracts and detmines the correct and timely payment. It is the goal of Shared Services to serve our customers and to produce a quality financial outcome for Scripps. REQUIREMENTS
Preferred Qualifications: Two or more years working in a healthcare billing environment perferred. Verbal and numerical ability to interpret data and hospital business practices. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Aptitude to understand insurance terms: ei HMO, PPO, EOB, STOPLOSS, R/A, etc. Working knowledge of content of editing of UB forms. Demonstrated collections skills related to both third party and self pay accounts. Working knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD9 coding. Video terminal, PC, 10 key by touch, fax, printer and other office quipment experience perferred.Additional Skill Set Requirement:
Strong data entry and organization skills. Strong negotiation and collection skills.
Ability to understand medical records, hospital bills and the chargemaster. Ability to communicate orally and in written form. Must be team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
