At our tertiary care hospital, you'll encounter the meaningful challenges you seek.Primary Purpose: Primary responsibility for capital asset management system in Lawson and monitoring capital projects in process. Projects in process requirements include 1) verification of budgetary amounts, contingency and all components of a project 2) review and verification of change orders 3) review and approval of payment applications 4) project contingency and budget status reporting. This position will also perform a variety of statistical and financial evaluations of existing capital budgetary performance and proposed hospital programs? capital needs. Prepares monthly capital asset activity reports, including funding sources and year to date activity. Minimum Qualifications: 1.Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or closely related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute 2.Minimum of 5 years previous professional experience including use of financial analytical tools and computer based financial modeling and spreadsheet applications; hospital environment preferred 3.Capital project accounting experience, preferably in a large hospital environment (cap assets $50M-$100M), with hands on experience in project accounting and change order management . 4.Experience with Lawson software a strong plus. Equivalent experience will be considered. 5.Certified Management Accountant or Certified Public Accountant preferred Work Environment: Work activities are subject to long periods of sitting and keyboarding using fingers to type and enter data; visual acuity to verify accuracy and readability of information/reports; ability to communicate effectively in English by speaking, hearing, seeing, reading and writing to perform essential functions. This position will attend capital project status meetings and provide accounting department controls to the capital process. Supervision Received/Given: This position receives regular review of completed work assignments by the Controller/Director of Finance This position does not supervise any other staff at this time.
