ACCOUNTANT II
Position available immediately working for one of New England’s oldest construction companies. Position located in Holyoke, MA, at company’s main office.

Under direction of Controller, responsible for performing diversified accounting, auditing, analysis and other duties pertaining mainly to the maintenance of financial records, analysis of financially-related activities and the preparation of financial reports.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Perform or direct the maintenance of journals and ledgers for the Company and its affiliates consistent with legal agreements and established accounting procedures.
Inform and consult with pertinent management and construction staff to inform, discuss and suggest action pertaining to adverse or unfavorable activities or transactions which may affect the financial status of the company.
Prepare subsidiary financial reports and supporting schedules to properly present the financial position of the Company.
Assist the Controller in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
Prepare project cost analyses and review with construction staff. Assist construction staff with preparation of project reporting requirements. Prepare proforma projections and research areas of cost concerns.
Assemble projections and budgets. Maintain and prepare reports required by State, Federal or other agencies. Compile records from which State and Federal tax returns for the Company and its affiliates are prepared.
Review production records, review and approve customer invoices, and follow up on collection of outstanding invoices. Prepare accounts receivable management reports. Review collection and payment schedules to maintain adequate cash balances.
Assist Controller in conducting special examinations and analysis.
Prepare for, and work with external auditors.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
Broad knowledge of accounting.
College education with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Experience
Over two years and up to three years in Accounting business.
