Project Description:

What you will do:

As a Developer/Consultant for our client, you will be doing custom application development in support of large collaboration/installation projects, namely utilizing Sharepoint technologies. While enhancing your development skills (developing web parts, site/page development, custom development), you'll also have the opportunity to improve your consulting skills through interacting with clients, analyzing needs, and recommending solutions to clients. As a developer/analyst for our client you will also have the chance to gain further exposure to some of the newer Microsoft technologies: Sharepoint, Biztalk, etc., and one of your inital/long-term projects will be to assist in an enterprise-level Sharepoint installation/implementation. This person also assist the Program Manager and likely be groomed into a Senior/Lead Developer OR Project Manager.

Who you will interact with

You will work with a team consisting of a Program Manager, a Communication Manager, a Sr. Network Engineer, a System Administrator, the Help Desk Support, Trainer(s), and Change Management Consultant(s).

*60% working on an individual basis, 40% working within a team*
*Reporting to the VP of Information Technology and the Director of Integrated Solutions (Project)
*Initially, 90% off-site at client location in Washington, DC
*10% of work will be done internally - in Reston, VA

Skills Necesary to Succeed:

*2-4 years of experience
* Experience with all phases of a project life cycle using Microsoft .NET
*Knowledge of SharePoint Portal Server/WSS and web parts, SQL Server, BizTalk, etc.
*Strong background in Microsoft Office and Office Automation Development
*Experienced working with rapid-prototyping and software integration techniques
*Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize their work schedule to maximize performance with little or no supervision
*Excellent communication skills - clear and concise writing, presenting, and explaining, particularly when it comes to technology
*Ability to read and interpret documents such as requirements definitions, installation instructions, technical articles and procedure
*Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, attention to detail, knowledge and use of best practices
*Knowledge of third party add-ons such as CorasWorksTM and workflow products such as K2.net preferred

How your performance will be measured

*Performance will be measured via semi-monthly technical meetings for projects, along with an Annual Performance Review peformed by both the VP of Information Technology and the Director for Integrated Solutions
